Synchronize data fields
To minimize any redundant data entry, you'll want to first make sure that any relevant fields in Greenlight match with how those fields are represented in your general ledger.
- Accounting Categories correspond with your Chart of Accounts
- Legal Entities correspond with your Companies or Entities
- Organizations correspond with your your general ledger's list of Vendors
It's important that the categories, entities, and organizations are correct prior to the final "green light" approval. For this reason we recommend that accountants are added as approvers on any accounting processes.

Our general ledger integrations will remember corresponding data fields between Greenlight and your general ledger software, even if they don't match perfectly.
Export transactions from Decisions
- Select the transactions you would like to export by using filters and then selecting all
- Alternatively, manually select each line item
- Export the transactions by clicking on the ". . ." at the bottom left of the screen and selecting the file type that is used by your general ledger software
You may want to rearrange your Greenlight table columns to match with how the columns are laid out in your general ledger software.
While our general ledger integrations can handle split transactions, you will only be able to apply one category to a transaction if utilizing the .csv or .xls export feature in Greenlight. We recommend entering multiple transactions if you wish to use multiple categories.
