Currently you can email and text into all areas of the platform. Source, Tasks, and Bill/Expense Decisions.
Creating Tasks by Email/SMS
Being able to create tasks from outside of the platform is especially useful for users who may have low internet connectivity. It's also a fast and convenient way to add things to Way2B1.
Your instance has a unique email and unique phone number to send or text to. You can find your instance's information in Fixit's navigation dropdown menu.
- Tag a location or assign the task to a person by either @ or # - and don't forget to leave a space between them! Here are a couple examples:
- Faucet Leaking @brett #mainhouse
- Broken lightbulb! #brett @mainhouse
- Be descriptive and include photos!
- For email, the email subject becomes the task title and the email body becomes the task description.
- For SMS, the entire text message will become the title of the task.
Tasks can only be created when sent from an originating email or phone number that are associated with a user account. Make sure every user has an account to avoid confusion!
Saving Emails to a Source Page
- Emails can be saved to a Page by forwarding or sending to "source@your-instance.way2b1.com"
- The email will appear in your Queue
- Select the email in your Queue, click on "Save to Page", and select the desired Page
Users will only be able to see emails that were sent from their own email addresses unless they have "Can see all emails" turned on by an Administrator.
